Ecocrete
Ecocrete® from Mebin is an environmentally friendly concrete mortar in which the gravel is replaced by a granulate of recycled concrete. Concrete is one of the few structural building materials that are 100% recyclable. The quality of Ecocrete® is equal to that of a standard concrete mortar.
Ecocrete® is available in three varieties:
Ecocrete® 30
Ecocrete® 50
Ecocrete® 100
In this product, only CEM III/B 42.5 cement is used in combination with recycled concrete. By using CEM III/B 42.5, the footprint is approximately 70% lower compared to CEM I (worldwide, CEM I is the most widely used) The use of recycled aggregates is also laid down in the Concrete Agreement. In 2018, Mebin already produced about 600,000 cubic meters of concrete containing recycled aggregate. A major advantage of this is that the recycled aggregate absorbs CO₂ during storage, also the footprint of concrete with 100% gravel replacement can be up to approx.11% lower. So that means double gain for the environment.
