Green deal 178: Circular buildings
With the Green Deal Circular Buildings, participants attempted to apply the principles of the circular economy to buildings. The participants contributed by identifying important circular principles in buildings. This assessess various building characteristics, such as the use of materials and opportunities for extending the lifespan. In addition, attempts have been made to make these building characteristics measurable and recordable at building level. As a subsequent, a circular passport has been developed that describes the circularity degree of buildings.
The Green Deal was realized in several phases. Within these phases, the participants have taken the first important steps to make existing and new buildings in the Netherlands more circular. Knowledge and experience in the field of circular buildings has been achieved through the participants and pilot projects.
