Green deal 200: Green rooftops
The Green Deal Green Rooftops started in 2014 with a study into revenue models that made a significant growth possible in the number of green roofs that can be paid. Stimulating green roofs is important because they contribute to a healthy ecosystem, capture a particulate matter, cool buildings, reduce heat stress in cities, buffer water and increase biodiversity. In addition, vegetated roofs offer extra space for use and last longer.
In the second phase of the Green Deal Green Rooftops, the coalition paertners are developing practical cases to accelerate the implementation of green rooftops. In addition, the social earning concepts from phase 1 are further elaborated and tested in specific projects or pilots. For example, with owner-occupied homes, offices, a business park, a theater, school, MFA (Multi Functional Accommodation) or rental homes. The aim of the national stimulation is that the ecosystem-strengthening properties of green rooftops are optimally utilized.
