INTERREG
INTERREG was established in 1990 to improve cooperation between regions within Europe. It is one of the oldest and largest grant funds that funds project cooperation between national, regional and local parties from different Member States. The basis of INTERREG is cooperation, just like the basis of Europe.
INTERREG consists of 79 programs that work together in different ways:
cross-border (INTERREG A)
transnational (INTERREG B)
interregional (INTERREG C)
This tripartite includes multiple collaboration programs organized by geographic location, shared challenges, and goals. In addition, there are also programs that focus on cooperation with countries on the EU's eastern and southern external borders.
