Stockholm agreement
The Stockholm agreement is a legally binding instrument aimed at protecting human health and the environment from persistent organic pollutants; these substances are persistent in the environment, spread over large areas of the Earth's surface, accumulate in the food chain and pose a risk to human health and the environment. These persistent organic pollutants are usually called POPs after the English name Persistent Organic Pollutants.
